Cusco School Colonial Replica Painting of the Last Supper, "The Last Supper"

Christ shares his last supper with his twelve disciples in a classic Cusco school interpretation of Leonardo Da Vinci's well-known painting. Meticulously painted in lucid oils, it captures the facial expression as well as the body language of each man. Loaves of bread on the table and a chalice of wine presage the sacrament of Holy Communion in this work by Jose Ponce de Leon. Seen through the window, steep mountains set the scene in the Peruvian Andes.
