Details

Working in handblown art glass, Molinari Family artisans create a vase that evokes the sky at sunrise. The voluptuous jar narrows at the neck, then fans outward, shading from golden amber to shades of blue. Inspired by the legendary work of Murano artisans in Italy, the Brazilian artists craft a modern heirloom with crystalline bubbles.

Because each piece is handmade, shape and size can vary slightly and tiny bubbles may appear within the glass. This exemplifies the hand-blown technique, making every piece a unique example of blown glass craftsmanship.

Preserving Traditions

Preserving Traditions

Antonio Carlos and his brother, Paulo Molinari, learned the ancient hand-blown glass technique as apprentices of the Italian master, Aldo Bonora, who came to Brazil from Murano Island. After eight years, they opened their own workshop in 1962. Considered among the most brilliant and talented hand-blown glass makers in the country, they have trained a number of glass artisans and have formed masters that have worked with them for more than 30 years.
