Christmas is my favorite time of year. Every year I get new decorations to add to my tree or even just around the house. One of my biggest weaknesses when it comes to Christmas Decor are beautifully designed Nativity Scenes.
Nativity Scenes bring not only a beautiful quality to the home, but also a great way to come back to the purpose for the season. Each culture has their own unique style for a nativity scene and each one carriers its own unique beauty. From Olive Wood and Mahogany, to Porcelain, and even Stone.
As you travel the world you find the different artistic styles they lovingly embed into the beauty of the Nativity Scene. And through our travels in our life, I have quickly fallen in love with the differences between the cultures when it comes to displaying the beauty of that glorious night. And that admiration has turned into a passion for collecting different unique nativity sets each year.
This year my newest addition to my Nativity Scene collection is the stunning Christmas In Peace Stone Nativity Scene.
It was a hard choice this year because there were so many stunning choices. But the Christmas In Peace Nativity Scene features the distinct styling of Peru. We have some very dear family friends who are from Peru and this year I wanted to pull a bit of their culture into our home.
The Nativity arrived gorgeously wrapped and ready to be placed under the tree. Yeah, no gift wrapping needed if you are giving these as gifts to friends or family. (Which I got 2 extras to give to my Mother-in-law and Sister-in-law this year. But shhh! Don’t tell them!)
The artist Juan Licas Coronado adapts the shape of the traditional chullo hat to create a warm, snug environment set inside the stone bell of the Nativity.
The stone was quarried in Huamanga in the central sierra of Peru. And its texture and color are similar to alabaster.
But really, I just love the beauty it captures in the artists rendition! Plus the stone materials makes it to where it blends well on just about any surface, even other stone!
It is the perfect addition to our Christmas Decorations this year. And will also make an excellent Christmas Gift!
