It’s been over a year since we launched our first happiness project in India and since then we’ve learned so much! We’ve been to many places, and met many inspiring people, all of whom have taught us that happiness is a contagious and exponential force — and that one of the secrets to achieving happiness is by giving, and not always by getting.
Through funds raised during our #GivingTuesday campaign in 2013, and our own fundraising efforts on Indiegogo, you have helped us to boost the happiness of 5 communities in 4 different continents!
Happiness Projects have brought toys to children living in New Delhi’s slums, supplied sports equipment for orphans in Thailand, and rebuilt a preschool in Peru just in time for the rainy season. In Ghana they have provided much-needed school uniforms for an entire community, and in Guatemala they have given a group of women artisans new confidence and cherished memories.
Targeted giving using our on-the-ground infrastructure means that we can give efficiently and intelligently. Our local teams and artisans assess the needs of their communities, and we come up with the plans to make a difference and spread the maximum amount of happiness using carefully allocated resources.
We want to spread so much more happiness in 2015, and with help from our community, we’ve got a plan…
December 2nd, 2014 marked this year’s Giving Tuesday. On this day, one of our biggest sales days of the year, we donated 10% of sales towards our Happiness Project Fund in 2015.

This year NOVICA Team Guatemala was able to help a group of women achieve newfound confidence through comedy improv classes and a whole new look. Learn more about this project
