The designer of this pitcher is Javier and Efren, preservers of the art of blown glass since the 1990’s. Javier Gutiérrez was a mere 15 years old when he began blowing glass and now teaches the art of blowing hot glass to other artisans. Working with Javier and Efren is more than just a job for the artisans they employ as they actually train their assistants to carry on the craft of hot glass blowing. Together with his business partner Efrén Canteras, the beautiful pieces they create can add whimsy and beauty to any tablescape. I love that they believe in sharing their techniques with others who desire to learn because this is how this beautiful art form will carry on.
