I love the fact that you can reverse to give the pillow a different look and fit my small pillows. Thank you from a satisfied customer always.
Beautiful colors and workmanship. The red is in the vibrant pink family. I am delighted with this purchase.
Beautiful, high-quality workmanship
We just received this beautiful quilted comforter from the artisan in India. The workmanship is gorgeous. All seams are carefully matched and it is hand-quilted. It took me minutes to locate the zippers on the shams--thats how invisible they were. The comforter is larger than we needed for our queen-size bed, so we just fold over the top a bit. The pattern is truly a work of art. It was well worth the wait.
"Today my main concern is to praise the hands and lives of artisans who continue to offer vital dimensions to our lives. A fair price recognizes their expertise."

India Hand-Stitched Cotton Block Print Quilted Cushion Cover, "Bombay Toile"$29
Designed by Shashi Sehgal, a lovely cushion cover tells a story of ancient life in India. Herders guided their flocks to graze in lush grasslands bordering the Thar Desert. For coverlets, the women created quilts of layered fabric, stitched by hand in a technique known as -making or hand quilting. This quilted cushion cover is created in the same way of cotton voile.
The motifs are created with block prints, applied by hand in blue on ivory. Neat rows of flowers represent the unbroken lineage of tradition handed down over generations. Finished with piping, the edges are scalloped and the stitching is done by hand.
A zipper at the bottom of the cushion cover opens to insert the cushions.
India Handmade Block Print Cotton Duvet Cover and Shams, "Rajasthani Remembrance"$229
It can take up to three weeks to complete the laborious handmade process of textile printing. Dozens of hand-carved blocks are used to stamp a resist paste onto the cloth, which is then dyed and laid in the sun to dry. The longer the dye sets, the more vibrant the color. Then the cloth is washed to remove the resist, and the process begins again with a different block pattern. All told it can take 30 separate steps to achieve the intricate floral and geometric patterns for which ajrak is known. The traditional color palette of crimson red, indigo blue, and white on this all-cotton duvet cover is said to represent the universe: red for the earth, white for clouds, and blue for the sky, the universe itself. Two matching pillow shams complete the set.
