"My fascination with images allows me to explore and interact with different realities. I constantly reinvent myself through this medium as I acquire the essence of what I capture through my photographs. In the process, a part of me gets printed in the paper, and part of my subject or landscape becomes printed in me. Photography is always a reciprocal process - it is creative, intuitive and enriching.

"My inspiration comes from my surroundings, which have always been varied throughout my life. In my journey as a photographer I've had the great privilege to explore countless regions in our planet, as well as submerge in the different cultures that intrigue observers and are amazed by them.

"Nature is however, my muse. Especially those faraway and atypical locations that possess a uniqueness that cannot be replicated. The same can be said about the people I photograph - I am inspired by people who are eccentric and extravagant: those who are authentic and demonstrate a strong character or, those who make a reference to their surroundings and carry with them the marks of time.

"In a way, one of the most challenging aspects of this work that I do is penetrate said environments and meet these people. And yet this is the part I love most about my work.

"I've always been fascinated with images, still or in movement, as well as with the visual arts in their different forms and expressions. My training began at a very young age, through cinema and illustration. That's how I began to understand the basic principles of intention, lighting and composition. Soon my interest shifted toward the art of photography – a means of expression that not only offers me total independence and freedom in the creative process, but also the possibility of exploring cultures.

"It would be difficult to name just one person as my teacher as I have learned from a great number of people including teachers, colleagues, family, friends, and strangers. Life experiences also offer important lessons in this profession. Photography isn't only about learning the technicalities; it's about learning to blend in and interact with your subject and your environment.

"Thanks to the people and places in these images I am able to achieve this goal. I can share through visual media how fascinating is the world that surrounds us: mystical and visceral. Sometimes disconcerting, at others intriguing but mostly, seductive."
