We just received our order for the beautiful 'Hamsasya Mudra', 'Strong Bonds', and 'Hands at Prayer' sculptures. The atmosphere in our workplace lifted as soon as we unpacked them. Absolutely beautiful work. Love the veins gently swelling in the smooth wood 'skin' and the superb detailing in the fingers and nails. We are keeping the praying hands on our altar, for now, and they look so well, there. Amazing. We also tried to copy the pose for the 'Strong Bonds' piece, and only realized then that it is of two right hands. We were going to advertize this piece as a great gift for a wedding, but they really are two male hands. Might be nice to do a male-female version some time, as it would make a lovely romantic gift. The pose of this one is impossible to do as a simple clasp, because the forearms are so close, and when you get that close with two right hands, the wrist naturally bends, so there is some artistic license in this piece. You really can only do this if you are arm wrestling - but the fingers and wrists are too relaxed for an arm wrestle. And that realization created new symbolism - of two strong individuals claiming their own space, yet willingly accommodating each other. Strong bonds, indeed. Thanks for such fine work !
