"On my own, I applied my knowledge of design to colors, forms and functionality.""I became impassioned with mosaic while still studying in the university's School of Industrial Design. Our classes offered the practice of many diverse techniques. My first contact with this art occurred with discarded pieces of Portuguese tiles when my father remodelled his apartment. My attempt to find a new use for the relics resulted in a very, very beautiful pot. On my own, I applied my knowledge of design to colors, forms and functionality. I then created a diverse range of products that were both decorative and useful. And soon, the hobby became my principal occupation.
"Since the early 1990s, I have dedicated myself exclusively to mosaic, a work that requires creativity and patience. As time went by, I became acquainted with new materials and perfected my technique, mainly during the three years I lived in Italy.
"Exhibiting and selling my works on the Internet is a way to take art to the entire world. Novica is a tremendous shop window."
