Miguel and Junior Leal
Ceramic vases and decorative pieces in Central America
"Curiosity was our best teacher."Miguel and Junior Leal are brothers and craftsmen who craft their products with dedication and hard work. They seek to once again promote the beauty of the handicrafts of Nicoya, which has been lost over time. Each piece tells a story of the culture and dedication of their people.
Their story starts from when they were very young; they grew up in a family of artisans. Miguel and Junior had the joy of being able to observe how all these crafts were made in the family workshop.
"Curiosity was our best teacher."
Born in Guaitil, Santa Cruz, in the beautiful country of Costa Rica, the Leal Vega brothers are characterized by an incredible charisma. They are always aware of the needs of their community, and are eager to create a prosperous business where both their family and their community benefit.
"We carry this art in our veins. God did not give us this wonderful gift--our hands from a very early age learned little by little how to make handicrafts with clay. We learned the preparation of the raw material from our family; each one had their own technique, and with so many different styles, we created our own.
“We are very fortunate and rich to have such a broad culture that gives us the possibility to create unique products. We want to please our customers, but with a focus on this culture, our roots and everything that identifies us as Costa Ricans.
“This is a dream that has just begun, and we appreciate the many opportunites like these. It is something too exciting to know that our pieces can be seen by many people around the world. We make these products with a lot of dedication; we hope you like them.”
