Mexican Wool Runner Rugs
As pretty as this is in the photo, it's much prettier in my room. Really lovely weaving and warm colors. My cat also likes it very much. Thank you!
We have this in our front hallway. It's a great neutral rug for a place where I didn't want much pattern. To me the red colour is a neutral. It's a solid thing, which I wash in cold water on our back cement patio. After three years, it doesn't show any wear.
I needed another Zapotec rug for my hallway where I have two other rugs with this design. (I may have purchased one from Novica years ago). I was very pleased to see this (same size, same design) still available. It arrived beautifully packed, with a personal note, and as a weaver myself, I appreciate the quality workmanship. My other Zapotec rugs have lasted very well - no colors running onto carpet beneath (like the red from a kilim did). I have been to Teotitlan del Valle in the past and there are many weavers there producing rugs of varying quality. Gregorio's work is excellent.
"I was born to weave, academia was definitely not for me! I remember skipping school with my friends to swim in the dams and pick guavas."
