Merry Wheaton
Writer & Spanish-English Translator
I first went to Mexico in 1963 and have loved it ever since. My husband and I met in the doctoral program in Spanish Literature and Linguistics at the University of Texas, so things Hispanic are a shared interest. We have filled our home with color and with fun, funky and fabulous things, and we especially love the Mexican ceramics and lacquered wood... And then there are the textiles, carvings, paintings.... Mexico is such a vibrant place with such wonderful craft traditions, I'd buy it all if I could!
I own a translation agency called On Target and am the current president of Austin Friends of Folk Art, a non-profit committed to spreading knowledge of folk art and helping to support those who make it. See why I think NOVICA is the best?
What I like most about Novica:
NOVICA offers beautiful handmade objects, marketed with flair and at a fair price, and provides wonderful information about the people who made them. I think NOVICA's mission and vision are the best--way outside the box!
