High School teacher

I was an Art and Art History teacher for 20 years, and am now working with refugees from Afghanistan and Burma, helping them to improve their English. This one-on-one teaching is very rewarding, and is teaching me a great deal about the third world.

What I like most about Novica:

I like the idea that Novica is keeping alive traditional arts and handicrafts in countries other than the G8. Once these skills are traded for "modern" employment, they are gone forever. I like the idea that the skills involved are passed down in families and villages, and that the final products are being made available by National Geographic.
