Technical Writer, wordsmith, bookworm

I live in a suburb of Washington, DC. I have always loved to write. I am inspired by people who have overcome obstacles to achieve their goals, particularly artists who can make a living out of their work. It makes me want to create things, even though I don't have much talent. My family has always encouraged me to travel, and I have been fortunate to see much of Europe. Now I want to see the rest of the world, and if I can't go there I like to read about countries and cities and, in particular, the people who live there. What their lives are like, etc. We live in a global village; I want to get to know my neighbors.

What I like most about Novica:

I love shopping on Novica because I know that my money is going to the actual craftsperson, not to some large organization that will take 90% of the money as "administrative expenses." I like knowing who made my purchase; it makes the item more personal. I know it wasn't mass-produced in a factory somewhere. I love the fact that everybody benefits through Novica. I get something beautiful, and I know the artist gets the money that is needed to continue his or her work.
