Nurse / Reading / Needlework / My pets

I am a nurse and travel 50-200 miles daily to assit people who need to receive health care and housekeeping assistancein their homes. I live with 2 dogs and 5 cats in a very small house. I am actively involved with my church's youth group and womens' ministry. I spend a lot of time reading and watching old, classic movies. I am blessed to live within 2 hours of my parents and sister; we make it a point to see each other at least monthly. I love jewelry, especially earrings, and collect artisan created pieces of all kinds. I am also a "bag lady" and find that a change of the bag I am carrying can change my whole outlook. My pets are my kids; they are spoiled, overfed and hold my heart in their furry paws. I have 14 yr old dog, Sam, that runs the household. He is my alarm clock and my dinner bell. If I have food on the stove, he hangs out close by in case I lose track of time, or it begins to burn. Lucy is my 9 yr old dog and she is my best girlfriend, always at my feet and ready to nap

What I like most about Novica:

I love knowing that my purchases were "created" and not simply "manufactured". I enjoy reading the stories about the artisans and think of them each time I wear my jewelry or give a gift from Novica. The website is fabulous and just as well done as the crafts I have purchased. It is important to me that I am in some small way contributing globally and helping small businesses succeed. I love placing an order and then watching for the mailman to come to my door! I have been pleased w/ all my purchases. Right now here in WV, we are in the middle of a stormy and difficult winter. Shopping on Novica has brightened up some otherwise dreary evenings. Reading about the people and places where these talented artisans live takes me away for a brief and welcomed vacation!
