'Cat in the Window'

Framed in massive beams, a window opens in a thick wall, its stucco showing the ravages of time. Mauro Fichman is a photographer, painter and graphic designer, having studied at the Superior School of Industrial Design. His work is separated from contemporary trends as he follows a more personal path, which reflects an intimacy through capturing the poetry and beauty so often overlooked by the naked eye.

He has always worked with art, and has been a professional photographer since 1982. His lens gracefully controls black and white, while his photos exhibit a predilection for natural scenes, whether portraying ample landscapes or fleeting details. Mesmerizing textures emerge clearly in every image, and some friends and art critics have described his photographs as 'paintings.'
