Nana Akua Engmann was born in Ghana on September 9, 1970. Her artistic instinct found guidance in
secondary school where she studied both general and visual arts. Akua then enrolled in college where she graduated with a diploma in merchandising.
Her great passion and talent for art led her into the area of arts and interior décor, which is her present occupation. Influenced by the African cultural language, her creative imagination is admirable. She invites us all to experience a new dimension in aesthetics, combining materials such as
bogolan (cotton), foam, gray baft and glue. Akua's home furnishings portray traditional African culture and forms influenced by her individual response to African arts and present social and cultural circumstances. Akua's approach is emotional as opposed to purely academic. Her Ghanaian environment basically inspires her designs.
Nana Akua has now accomplished one of her dreams – to own a small company offering interior decorating services.
