    'Pots Market'

Women in silhouette appear amid voluptuous clay jars and pots in a work of great movement and warmth. Conveying the sensations of a traditional market in West Africa, Prince Dewodo works in a palette of ochre, brown and gold. "In some parts of my country, the market women categorized themselves according to the type of things they sell. This is the pots market," he explains.

"I am a quiet and shy person and keep to myself most of the time. I was born in Accra on June 9, 1976. After senior high school, I pursued a diploma in art with painting as my major, and thereby specialized in abstracts.

"My paintings have improved over the years, so much that I now feel shy about displaying some of my old paintings. When I look at them, I wonder whether I really came up with such work. But all the same, these old paintings remind me of my rapid rate of improvement.

"I paint mainly with acrylic on canvas. I have taught four people how to paint and currently they are practicing on their own.

"I had my first exhibition in 1998 and have displayed my work in several Ghanaian galleries. The exhibitions I have held have all been very successful. "My inspiration has to do with the fact that art and creativity are natural talents, and my greatest hope is to unveil all the hidden talents of art in me for the benefit of mankind and God, my creator.

"My hobbies are painting, swimming and cooking."
