"There is an owl that comes to my yard every day," says Bali's Jenny Setiawan. "That gave me the inspiration for this design. The owl has detailing in sterling silver and perches on a sono wood branch. I present the pendant on a leather cord, and am donating 30% from the sales of this necklace to the World Wildlife Fund."

"Hi, my name is Jenny Setiawan. I was born in West Java and grew up in Jakarta until I finished high school. Then I continued my degree in California. After I got married I moved to Central Java, where I learned more about Javanese culture and diversity.

"It's always been my dream to create jewelry, and the rich culture of Java has inspired me to start on my first jewelry collection in 2005.

"At first it was a hobby but soon, a lot of my friends became interested in my designs and wanted to buy and wear them. I want to instill my passion for Javanese culture and nature in my designs. My intention is to have a person wearing my designs to feel beautiful, romantic, and free-spirited, all at the same time."
