Details

Godwin Atta Geoman captures the colorful buoyancy of Bakatue Festival in Ghana's Volta Region. Meaning "Opening up the Benya Lagoon into the sea," the Bakatue is celebrated by the Elmina people on the first Tuesday of July to declare the opening of the fishing season. Geoman portrays three chiefs, kinsmen, dressed in flowing robes and golden jewelries presiding over the celebrations.
