Suwitra designs and creates elegant wearable art through his unique ability to capture nature's beauty.
Ketut Suwitra was born into a family of rice farmers, their village bordering with a jungle in west Bali. The youngest of four children, he tended to errands with no opportunity for schooling beyond elementary grade level. Long walks through the jungle fostered in Suwitra a deep appreciation for nature, animals, color, and the beauty of the natural world.
Beckoned by the opportunity for employment, at 19, Suwitra, his brother and his sister transmigrated to Sulawesi Island. Yearning for his native Bali, he returned after a year to pursue an interest in the local Balinese arts and crafts.
The colorful fabric market of Denpasar gave him a new sense of design and marketing. His five years there also instilled newfound confidence, and he eagerly seized the opportunity to work and design for a foundation in Bali as their boutique manager.
The lure of the unknown called to him four years later, and he accepted a one year work and study program in the mountains of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He returned to his beloved Bali and soon got back to work. Suwitra designs and creates elegant wearable art through his unique ability to capture nature's beauty.
Suwitra masters batik and silk screening techniques as well as and hand-painted motifs, which he transforms into colorful sarongs, scarves, and stylish, comfortable, clothing.

Mr. Suwitra has made my new favorite sarong skirt! His Orange Bamboo Paradise is exotic, and I absolutely cannot wait for summer so I can enjoy wearing it! It's the most lovely, deep orange-russet color...very warm and rich. I know I am going to feel in a summery, sunny mood every time I wear it! Thank you so much!

These are the most comfortable pants I have ever worn. And soft. And they look great on. I want to wear them every day. And just opening the beautiful packaging made me feel great! I will call them ""happy pants"" because I've felt that way ever since I put them on. Thank you.
I bought a medium Cotton top from Ketut and am extremely happy with how comfortable and elegant it is.
Just received my white cotton shirt with the hand painted palm tree and it is way beyond anything I ever expected. Wearing this shirt gives one the feeling of wearing nothing at all, but it does not feel cheap or too fragile to wear - a lot! This truly is a very fine example of wearable art and I would (and will) recommend Ketut's creations to all my friends along with anyone who asks about my shirt. I cannot wait to add to my collection.
Dear Ketut, I just gave my husband your beautiful black-and-white batik shirt for Father's Day, and he was thrilled! I gave my daughter one of your hand-painted black shirts for graduation a while ago, and she, also, looks GREAT in it! Keep up the fabulous work!!! All best wishes to you, Katherine Donovan-Sherpa
Hello again, Ketut! My husband and daughter were so thrilled with the shirts you made for them (and both look so wonderful in them) -- that I ordered 3 more shirts for him, and 2 shirts plus a kaftan for her! Once again, we are all amazed by the beauty and craftsmanship of you work!!! Thank you so much for outfitting the whole family in your remarkable, beautiful, original colors and designs! Best wishes, Katherine Donovan-Sherpa Charleston, South Carolina US
Dear Ketut: My wife is very happy with the garment you made and it does look and fit really well on her. It's hard to believe it came from so far away and was so perfect fitting. The quality, style and workmanship are really rare in these times. Please make more things. We are happy customers. We in America really appreciate your talent and art. Elena and Chris.
My Javanese hand-stamped batik, woven cotton, full-length sarong arrived and I think it's just gorgeous. The black and white pattern, it really does resemble the night sky a lit with tiny stars. It will make the perfect cover-up for evening pool parties/barbeques and can be worn so many different ways. It is sure to quickly become one of my favorites this Summer and well into the Fall and Winter as well! Thank you, Ketut! ""Wearable art"" is the perfect description for your lovely, fashionable creations!
I ordered the orange Bamboo Robe - it came in perfect time - was lovely gift wrapped in a clothes bag and is absolutely delightful. I love the colors and arrangement of the Bamboo leaves - the fabric is light, wonderful and breezy and the design/cut is just perfect too. I am one very happy customer. All the best to Ketut Suwitra - he is a wonderful artist ! Looking forward to seeing more of his creations ! Thank you so much ! Karin Maschek, Savannah Georgia USA
The batik blouse 'Blue Starlight' I purchased from Ketut was more than I'd hoped for. Light weight, beautifully made and the colour, spectacular. The size was just right too, although for a medium it was a neat fit.
I received the Orange Dragonfly Mysteries caftan in the mail today and I haven't stopped smiling. The fabric, the color, the cut all together create a beautiful work of art! I love it and can't wait for the weather to get a little bit warmer over here so i can wear it. Definitely not an outfit you want to cover up with a coat. It needs to be seen :-). Thank you! My best to you! Sailume

FINDING YOUR SIZE
Take your measurements with the tape measure over your under garments. If your measurements fall between sizes you may prefer the next larger size. Inseam, skirt and dress lengths vary by style and will be listed in the item description. Our sweaters are knit in standard American sizes, however actual measurements vary by style.
BUST / CHEST
Measure around the fullest part of chest under the arms and over the shoulder blades keeping the tape measure level.
Measure around the smallest part of the waist keeping the tape measure comfortably loose. Most garments use the low waist measurement noted below.
Measure around the body approximately 1.5" below the natural waist (above). This is the area where most pants and skirts actually fit.
Standing with your heels together, measure around the fullest part of the body approx 7"-8" below the waist.
Measure around the base of the neck keeping the tape measure comfortably loose.
Bend elbow slightly and starting at the center back of the neck, measure across the shoulder, to the elbow and down to the wrist.
Our standard inseam length for women is 32" and 34" for men; however inseam measurements will vary slightly by style.
