A broad brimmed hat shields the face of an African merchant woman. Kneeling in the market place, she offers ripe yellow bananas to passersby. Rosy pink clouds surround her, suggesting she has arrived before dawn. "I want to show the importance of women's role in our society," Ghanaian artist Nii Ablorh Sowah explains.
