"I was born in Bali in 1971, the eldest of four siblings, but whereas they got to live with my parents, I was raised by my grandparents until I finished elementary School. I've always loved to study and learn new things. Unfortunately, my parents could only support my studies until the end of senior year in high school. I was very sad, but I understood our family's economic situation and the fact that my siblings had to finish school too.
"Since in high school I took economy class and majored in accountancy, in 1990 I was able to work as an accountant in a star hotel in Kuta. During my free time, I took private software courses directly with friends I knew, who were computer programmers. This lead to a promotion to work at the hotel's head office, which meant I had to be on standby 24 hours a day, for four hotels. I did this for seven years and it was a stressful job to do.
"To relax and relieve stress, I would go out with a pocket camera and take photos of everything I saw. I was soon in love with the art of photography and began to experiment, practicing techniques without any formal training.
"It makes me very happy to know that people appreciate my work. My dream is to share Indonesia's nature and beauty, especially Balinese art and culture, with the rest of the world through my art."
