"Arts and crafts in general keep me company in day-to-day living. I cannot conceive a life without them!"
"I began crafting jewelry and belts about five years ago and it was my daughter who introduced me to this material. She would make her own necklaces and belts to add a special touch to her clothes, and I used to watch her intently. Little by little, I began to take an interest in it. I would help her organize the ensembles, embroider, and even share my opinions. Eventually I began buying my own materials and making my own accessories, which I always kept at home.
"When my neighbors got to see what I had been making, they wanted to buy my fashions and started placing orders. My collections began to take shape and my production began increasing. Meanwhile, my biggest concern was to ensure that my designs were original and different. I keep an eye out for fashion trends, but my designs are always my own.
"This work is a kind of therapy for me. Arts and crafts in general keep me company in day-to-day living. I cannot conceive a life without them!
"My necklaces, bags and belts are the reflection of my hands' dexterity at interpreting, in a delicate and unique way, what's in my imagination."
1 Testimonial for Roseana Rocha
I purchased Roseana's ""Want Ads"" purse for my mother for Mother's Day. My parents have been in the waste paper recycling industry since 1966, and as this purse was constructed of newspaper, I thought they would get a kick out of it. Since his life revolves around it, my father has always been fascinated by any product made from recycled materials, but he's particularly intrigued by the handcrafted ones. Well, the morning the purse arrived, my mother called to thank me and to tell me how cute it was, and that evening my father called to say he thought it was just fantastic. As I live 1500 miles away, I haven't been able to see it first-hand, but it looked adorable on-line. As its made of paper, I'm sure its not ""an every day work-type"" purse, but its a great accessory to carry to dinner or church. I know my parents' friends will get a smile out of the fact my mother now has a purse handcrafted from one of the products my family earns its living from. What a great conversation piece for them! Thank you Roseana! Sincerely, Michelle New
