"Namaste! I was born to a humble family from Delhi. My family has been in the field of handicrafts for many years, yet it was never sufficient to a provide a comfortable lifestyle. This was probably because there were no proper or sufficient channels to market our art. I studied only until eighth standard because I was the oldest in the family and had lots of responsibilities. I remember I used to go along with my mother to the market to sell our goods to the shops. Slowly we began to participate in exhibitions organized by the government.

"In 2003, I got married. My husband is from Mumbai, and he is also an artisan. He makes hammocks. After we got married, he joined hands with me and we started working on our own. My husband spends most of the time traveling. He brings patchwork from Gujarat and we transform it into our designs. We initially started with only wall hangings but now create a wide range of bedspreads, cushion covers, handbags, curtains and more. I wish we had a shop of our own but that isn't possible yet.
