Marisol Torobeo was born in Lima on May 10, 1976. "From the time I was 16, when I finished secondary school, I became very interested in handicrafts," she says.
"Part of my family on my mother's side has worked in jewelry for a long time. As a hobby, they learned to work in silver, weaving fine threads in filigree, an ancient technique inherited from the pre-Inca Tallanes and Vicus cultures in northern Peru."
She uses sterling silver for her filigree work, and 0.950 rating silver for the gleaming and "burnt" finishes of designs that incorporate precious stones like rose quartz, turquoise, sodalite, serpentine, obsidian and Andean opal.
"Through my work, I wish to show designs that are colorful and fun, filled with energy and passion. I want to rescue the old styles but also to present innovative and casual jewelry. I hope you enjoy pleasant moments in the company of my designs, each one crafted with much affection and gratitude. Because through this portal, you can discover the fine and time-honored art of Peruvian jewelry," she says.
