Six-sided peyote blossoms pose on the forehead, cheeks and chin of a dazzling beadwork mask. Called jicuri, peyote forms the centerpiece of Huichol ritualism. Kawuyomaire, the deer, leaps in lithe circles on the forehead while doves encircle the cheeks in an extraordinary design by Higinio Hernández.
