Ivaldino and Odete Cavalli

"I am Ivaldino, a descendent of Italians from the Veneto region, and I have been working with glass for more than 25 years. All my life has been focused toward the making of these pieces. It is my great passion.

"During the last decade, I've had my wife's great love and her contribution of technical knowledge and novel design for us to add to our pieces. We began to innovate with our methods at the beginning of the 1990s, and our pieces can be easily recognized due to the use of differentiated colors and exclusive techniques, always uniting the beauty of Murano glass with Brazilian creativity.

"It is complicated to explain the origin of our inspiration to create such varied pieces. It happens naturally. We live crystal 24 hours a day and everything that we see around us becomes colorful blown glass. If I see an animal, I try to copy its movement. In a landscape, the colors influence me. And in this way we live our lives, letting nature impart the information for us to translate our inspiration into glass… creativity and art."
