A stylized braid arcs above this slender personage, enhancing the abstract features. Squared eyes give a mystical gaze while elongated features confer grace on this elegant polychrome carving. The mask comes from Ghana's Ga tribe, where they are used during thanksgiving ceremonies. Carved by hand, this piece designed by Juliana Akandas is named Shedaa (thanks).
