Details
Using a palette knife to convey the strong energy of the scene, Ghanaian artist Joseph Kwaw Besoabewie creates a dynamic depiction of Makola, a suburb of Accra. Densely populated and always congested, Makola is home to many traders. The artist includes three colorful lorries in the scene, one of which bears the message 'God is King' and one painted with 'One Man No Chop'. 'One Man No Chop' is a common Ghanaian proverb meaning that one should share what they have with others.
