Issaka Ibrahim crafts a regal mask featuring a bird and lions, symbols of Bulisa ancestors. There are two clans within this Ghanaian tribe, one represented by a bird, the other by the lions. When a chief is chosen, the pea (chief) mask will prominently feature the symbol of its clan. Ibrahim carves the sese wood mask by hand, adorning it with a bird looking downwards and lions embossed in aluminum. The round mask is treated with a clay finish to obtain an antique appearance.
