Expressionist Painting, "Parade"

Asserting their Ghanaian identity, 21 men wear traditional long robes and tall hats. "The movement of color and designs in a processional state is to assert African identity – after all they have a mind of their own and are extremely elegant," artist Gordon Amponsah says of his subjects. He works in a bright palette of primary hues, and presents the original painting in a Manila board mat.
