"A flat short-bristle brush and a palette knife are most important to my work. The result is a unique style...."
"My name is Emmanuel Tetteh Pecku. My mother says that during my pre-school education, my teachers always complained about my habit of drawing on any surface I came across anywhere – even when class was in session. I always won prizes in school art competitions, and also played soccer for the school. I have been painting since 1995, as a schoolboy of 12, and began studying for a university degree in art in 1999.
"My favorite medium is acrylic on canvas; using a flat short-bristle brush and a palette knife are most important to my work. The result is a unique style, greatly enhanced by an almost fanatical regard for the purity of colors.
"My first exhibition was in Accra, and I exhibit and sell my works through a gallery there. I have won two major awards in arts. I like basing my works on situations that can raise an alarm to save society."
The intense colour and vibrant movement captured in this painting attracted me to it, a wonderful christmas present for my parents, they love it.
