"Hello, my name is Mamta and I was born in Delhi in 1976. I grew up in Delhi and had a fun-filled childhood. I come from a very close-knit family therefore I love spending time with my family and friends.

"I studied a Bachelor of Commerce at Sri Ram College, and later I studied Jewelry Design and Manufacturing, from the Jewelry Product Development Center (JPDC) in Delhi.

"My incursion in jewelry happened not too long ago. I saw some amazing jewelries done by students of JPDC and I was very impressed. I was so fascinated by them that I was encouraged to try it out. After all, I have always been good at creative work. Since then, I have found jewelry is a tough, competitive market where creativity rules and you need to do something different to be able to survive in it.

"My family was already in this craft so I got all the encouragement and motivation I needed from them. I teamed-up with my brother and sister-in-law, and together we create amazing products. It is a great feeling to work in jewelry. The real satisfaction is when you actually see your creativity translated into a product.

"I design mostly in silver, gold with semi-precious, and precious stones. Demand for our designs has grown to the point that we've been able to offer employment to two local silversmiths.

"We've recently expanded our work to include sterling silver figurines. Many people like them as wedding gifts and with this idea in mind, we developed a range of silver sculptures at reasonable price. The response has been amazing and I plan to introduce more designs.

"It is wonderful to be a part of Novica. It is innovative and professional, and quite encouraging for budding artisans and designers. I would definitely love to continue working and grow steadily to an established position in the realm of jewelry design."
