"My desire has been to further my education and to give my children the best in terms of education to whichever height they want to attain."

"I was born on February 3 in Accra. I am a quiet person who cannot stand disappointment.

"I had to drop out of school after completing junior high. My uncle, Mr. Gefia, who lived at Suhum in the Eastern Region of Ghana, took me to live with him for a while. There I learned how to carve, which was a trade he was engaged in. I improved tremendously and was invited by my relative, Mr. Victor Delanyo – a Novica-featured artisan – to Accra.

"During this visit, Victor realized how good I was in carving. But he believed I should learn the art of designing the carved items and suggested his desire to train me. I was so enthused! I accepted and, although I wouldn't say I have mastered the art of designing, I have improved tremendously. I know that with consistent practice, I'll get there.

"I use sese wood, acrylic paints, beads and leather for my works, and these materials can easy to be obtained in our local market, except for the wood which I must often travel long distances to obtain. I am inspired mostly by nature and social life.

"My desire has been to further my education and to give my children the best in terms of education to whichever height they want to attain. I would also create the opportunity to train people who desire to learn this craft, as well as assisting less privileged people to have a means of creating their livelihood."
