"I've always enjoyed painting and drawing on paper, but I never paid much attention to it, until one day when I was in Lima and a friend took me to the Fine Arts School, where I discovered my true passion. I was fascinated by the plethora of shapes, colors and textures that I could work with. That was 40 years ago, and I am still absolutely enamored with my art, just like I was on that first day.
"I was born in the beautiful city of Huamanga on November 2, 1950, where I grew up with my mother as my father passed away. I left when I was 20 years old as I wanted to explore new work options but more than anything, because I wanted to explore Peru.
"My only mission in life is to paint, and paint, and paint some more since it is the only thing that awakens all the emotions I have within. With my art I seek to reflect the telluric, magical and mythical forces in the Peruvian landscape through pre-Columbian shapes and colors, offering a pleasant experience to the human eye.
"My passion for this art is my motivation to continually create new things, searching for innovation through forms, colors and landscapes.
"I specialize in landscapes, and through my compositions I want to transmit the love, value and appreciation we should feel for the land. All that is natural is absolutely beautiful and magnificent – I love it!
"To me this art is a personal expression that searches to vindicate landscapes from an ecological point of view.
"I have shown my work in Peru in both individual and collective exhibitions, yet the greatest challenge I have had to overcome is staying on this artistic path. I have faced many economic hardships that made me feel like throwing-in the towel. Somehow I found my inner strength and together with my passion for painting I stayed on this path without looking back, and with no regrets.
"I would like to thank Novica customers for their trust in us artists and our work. As far as my compositions go, I would like to suggest you contact spiritually with them to enjoy them more."
