"My name is Tanarat but my friends and relatives call me Nae. My father was introduced to jewelry making as he was driving his taxi for a hotel many years ago. He now crafts leather jewelry at home in the evenings, some of which he features in Novica. Perhaps you know him? His name is Tanyasit.
"I am from Bangkok, the 'City of Angels.' We are four sisters and I am the third. We are of very humble origin. My father drives a taxi and my mother cooks foods at home, which she then sells in the neighborhood. They are originally from Isarn and moved to Bangkok to try and improve their lives. They've worked hard their whole lives in order to raise us well and offer us the best education possible. I graduated with a bachelor degree in 2008. My sisters and I are extremely grateful and now repay them the Thai way: with love, deep respect and financial support.
"My dad's interest in jewelry has rubbed off on me, and I also got involved in this art form when I was studying. I now design and craft my own jewelry. Unfortunately, this activity alone does not allow me to earn a decent living yet. So until it gets better, I also work in a bank. I hope my jewelry will start getting recognized and appreciated, so I can fully dedicate myself to this passion of mine.
"I work with all sorts of materials, though now mostly with silver and semi-precious stones because I like these materials better. In the distant future, at least in my dreams [laughing], I will also work with gold, platinum, precious and fine stones. Anyway, for the time being I would like to introduce you to this first collection. It is a mix of marcasite and silver; their beauty and luster are enhanced here and there with colorful gemstones. I hope you will enjoy them!"
