"I graduated with a degree in styling from Senai-Catiq in 2001, and the following year I set up my own atelier. I began working with knitted clothes and I gradually incorporated crocheted details because I've always loved these art forms. For two years I showed my collections on catwalks, special events and fairs.
"Then I began to experiment with other styles, especially patchwork on my handbag collections, and from there I decided to dedicate myself exclusively to handbags and accessories. I took part in Fashion Week Rio and ever since then, my time is spent designing bags and teaching fashion courses at university.
"I've also teamed-up with other designers, such as Mary Figueiredo. Together with designed a collection in honor of Frans Krajcberg, a Polynesian artist residing in Bahia whose sculptures carry ecological messages. The sculptures combine alternative materials and sustainable techniques in an effort to raise a new conscience.
"I've decided to create a handbag collection based on this new line of thought. The idea is to draw attention to the importance of recycling and the preservation of our planet. Therefore, each bag is crafted with faux leather pieces that companies working with the material have discarded. Nature being the main theme, I create colorful patchwork compositions of flowers and leaves."
