Diana Ellis

"I was born in 1975 and was privileged to grow up in Rio de Janeiro, the most beautiful city in the world, in my opinion. I always had a lot of contact with nature, because I lived on a beautiful ranch on the outskirts of the city where I was surrounded with an incredible variety of flowers and plants. From the time I was a child, I learned to love and appreciate them. There, I also had contact with many musicians, actors and artists, and this led me to appreciate all forms of art. I loved visiting museums and going to exhibitions by the great painters who came to Brazil, and I always looked for a career related to art.

"It was in São Paulo in 2000 that I had the opportunity to participate in a studio course for the first time, and I fell in love with jewelry. I took several courses in sequence and, after one year, I was already successfully marketing jewelry designs in wax. When I returned to Rio de Janeiro, I participated in a jewelry course for descendants of Italians, carried out by CIAP with the support of Italy's Department of Labor. The course took me to Italy, where I worked and trained with jeweler Italo Lupo in Pescara, in the Abruzzo region. This experience gave me incredible new knowledge and allowed to participate on a daily basis in a top end jewelry workshop.

"Upon my return to Brazil, I continued perfecting my skills and taking courses in Senai. I set up my own workshop where I develop my designs. They are an extension of my personality and of all my influences."
