About this Artist

"When I first met the people at Novica, they said that not only were they interested in my collections, but that they also wanted to get to know me. They asked me to introduce myself on the site, but instead I opted to introduce my family and my team, because we always work as one. We started out as a family business, we have been working and will continue working as a family, and we hope to have you as a part of our warm family in the near future.

"My name is Achara and together with my husband Withaya, we are responsible for guiding the talented teams of designers and artisans. Our children, Nampueng and Harley, are our constant source of inspiration.

"I started to work with silver jewelry when I was in college, together with Withaya, who back then was my lovely boyfriend. That means we have been designing, crafting and selling silver jewelry for over 20 years now.

"When we learned that the hill tribe people of northern Thailand had wonderful silversmith skills, but that most of their jewelry wasn't considered very marketable, we decided we wanted to find a way to help them. We wanted to help in a way whereby they could earn a decent living and lead a stable life style, as well as promote their culture worldwide. That's how we came to create a form of collaboration with them, whereby we could help them develop more handcrafting skills, improve their designs so they would be more appealing to the general public, and improve the quality of their work, which meant refining their centuries-old traditional methods.

"Our mission is to create unique jewelry designs, and to preserve Thai and Hill tribe cultures. I hope that you will be satisfied with our collections and feel encouraged to promote the work of the hill tribe people. This is an appendum to earlier feedback on the cuff 'Pagoda' to Ms Achara. You may want to attach below comment to earlier portion. Thanks: The picture on the cuff depicts the architecture of traditional Thai temples & monuments. There're not many earrings or necklace that show rich Thai flavours in them which I'm for (correct me if I'm wrong). Thus, I hope Ms Achara can create the choker pendant & earrings as a set with similar Thai silhouettes.

I bought the cuff 'Rain' because it has a unique undulating shape & the fine burnished carving lines throughout the cuff add character & intrigue to the look. It looks bold & impressive on my arm. What can be fun & exciting than to own special-looking cuffs like this one.

This is my second purchase of Ms Achara's work. The 'Pagoda' cuff looks striking with very clean, fine burnished carving lines & well-polished silver. The design pattern & layout is very bold & nice & flows well with the shape of the wrap cuff which stands out among the rest. It's my first wrap cuff & I'm happy that it looks immaculate & eye-catching on my arm. It's fortunate that the large cuff can fit my small arm. I would like to suggest to Ms Achara to use her proficient carving & designing skills to create more choker pendants with carving details similar to this cuff design, of which there are none on display in her work feature. Hope to see them in future.

i bought the cuff bracelets 'elephant parade' & 'forest fern'. I'm impressed with the very well-designed minute carving details. The details looked very clear & well cut, with smooth curving gradients showing fine workmanship. The silver cuff bracelets are very sturdy & well-polished, yet very light. The handicrafts look traditional yet modern. I liked them very much as they looked very charming & eye-catching on the arm. There is alot of creativity in Ms Achara's designs & I'm eyeing some of her products now.
