"As an artist I try to explore the magic element of painting, that is to say color in all its intensity and nuances. My work is expressionistic and oscillates between the abstract and the figurative. I learned design from my family, with my father and my mother, who was a landscape artist. I took some courses at the School of Fine Arts as well. When the opportunity arose, I chose to move forward in the sociology faculty and continue taking open workshops in painting. For many years I worked as a professor of sociology while I continued to paint.
"I have a preference for certain themes that are common in my day-to-day life, such as sailing, the sport that I practice daily. I live in Angra dos Reis, a city on the southern coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro, where sailboats and ships comprise part of the landscape.
"I think that Novica is an excellent vehicle for distributing art to the world and I hope to be able to show my pieces to people all over the planet."
Diana Huidobro has participated in countless exhibitions in Brazil and a pair of showings in Holland, winning various awards for her paintings.
