Gusti Ngurah Astawa

"My name is Gusti Ngurah Astawa and I was born in the region of Tengah, on April 14, 1971. I began to paint in junior high school, with watercolor on paper. Once I attempted to paint using oil on canvas, but I found my painting wasn't good enough. In 1994 a senior painter, Awiki, introduced me to the proper realm of art. He would put a diverse nature of things in front of me and told me to paint them. Awiki taught me lot of things like proportion, composition, color and much more. Now, my paintings have been in exhibition at Bursa Lukisan at the Kuta Center.

"My family, especially my wife, has given me great support in my painting. I thank God for having them, for them being part of my life. And I also would like to thank Novica for what they are doing in promoting my paintings to an international level through Internet. Hopefully people will accept my work."
