About this Artist
"My name is Ketut Taram and I was born in the Gianyar regency, Bali, in 1967. I learned how to create my first sculpture from my older brother, Made Mudiawan. From 1975 until 1990 I worked primarily in suar wood. Then, from 1990 until 2000, I made the sculptures from sandalwood. Lately, I enjoy sculpturing with both."I began carving on my own in 1992; before I'd worked together with my older brother, saving until I had enough money to open my own workshop. There are five people working with me now.
"Balinese culture and tradition inspire my artwork. As the son of Wayan Kicen, a wood carver, it is easy and enjoyable for me to transfer my imagination into my work.
"I have participated in several exhibitions around Bali. Thank you Novica for promoting my artwork to the whole world. Through my art I do hope to provide a good life and a better future for my family, especially for my little child."
Recently purchased Legendary Dragon to go with Baby Dragon. This one is even more amazing than Baby, which was a true work of art. Legendary is almost twice as big, but the carving is meticulous and so precise. I will continue accumulating dragons from this wonderful artist as time and money allow. Truly a treasure of his country.

I recieved my "Legendary Dragon" today and I am just over-joyed! It arrived in a beautiful, burgandy , gift-wrap, with a small husk-like ornament on the wrapping, and that was beautiful enough, but when I opened the wrapping, what I saw was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen!!!This Dragon is just mind-blowing!!! The pictures on the web site do not do it justice. It is just goregous! The coloring of the wood is a deep, rich, reddish brown and the details in the carving are just astonishing. I can't thank you enough, or even attempt to explain in words how wonderful this Legendary Dragon is. Thank you so much! It's just mesmerisingly, beautiful!! I just received my greeting dragon today. It was very enjoyable to unwrap just waiting to find out what I waited daily to receive. It is a work of art that I could have only dreamed of having the good fortune to find you. I just can not describe how incredible it is. I just wish I had a way to come to Bali myself. This was my first order from Novica. I just received my wood sculpture Legendary Dragon by Ketut Taram today. The pictures on the Novica product page were extremely helpful in my decision to purchase this sculpture, but they don't do this sculpture justice. The actual item is truly a work of art. The quality of the carving is superb. The price was great, especially for an item of this quality and size. It arrived 10 days after I ordered it online, extremely well wrapped, and Novica did an excellent job keeping me apprised of the ordering and shipping details.
