Mulyadi was born on 5 March 1974 in the beautiful Indonesian island of Lombok. Mulyadi has been fascinated with handicrafts, including pottery and carving, ever since he was six years old. He is especially keen about working with natural materials from his homeland.
"From the time I was very young, I liked to make things with my hands and to create different works," he explains. "This time, I wanted to do something different so I used the batik techniques that are traditional of Indonesia, together with clay. I have designed and created new modern items that preserve a classic Indonesian accent. Since then, I have won recognition and awards for my creations.
"My philosophy in life is to always be optimistic, and to always do better in order to achieve better results, and never stop being creative. I am very happy to show the uniqueness of my products all over the world. I am also glad to be able to spread the culture and art of my beloved island, Lombok."
