"Hi, my name is Gaurav Mittal. I was born and brought up in Agra, the site of the magnificent Taj Mahal that commemorates the love of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. After completing college, I moved to Pune to study for a master's degree in business administration (MBA), which I received in 2003. I then joined my family in their rug crafting enterprise.
"Creating dhurries and rugs has been our family occupation for many, many years. My great grandfathers were among the pioneers in weaving cotton dhurries. I am the fifth generation in our family to craft rugs and it was inevitable for me to join them.
"We work with some 30 master craftsmen and, along with them, we make unique styles to present to the world. We also keep the ancient designs alive by incorporating new colors that follow modern trends."
