About this Artist
Nyoman Rena was born on October 11 as the third of five children. His father is Made Beratha and his mother is Ketut Sukarti. Young Rena started to learn wood carving when he was in the third year of elementary school. His grandfather, an architect of traditional Balinese buildings who is also a senior carver, gave much support to Rena's carving and jewelry development.After graduating from elementary school in 1983, Rena was introduced to a famous silversmith in his village by his father. Since then, Rena began learning to craft silver jewelry on Sundays. Making use of his carving ability, Rena combines it with his silver work. He believes that one day his silver crafting will invite the interest of customers worldwide.
I purchased two pendant charms to wear on my necklace to celebrate the wonderful two sons I have. I cannot think of a perfect charm. I LOVE flowers and each flower charm was so carefully crafted with my son's birthstones. I wanted something different than the typical mother's ring, bracelet or charm. This is something original that no one else around here has at least for now. People have given me numerous compliments on my pendant charms and I have been sending them to Novica and Nyoman for beautifully crafted, original pieces of jewelry. Thank you Nyoman!

I have this artist's "Lilac-Eyed Lotus" earrings, and they're high among the prettiest earrings I own! As others have said, the craftsmanship is excellent, with a very delicate touch and beautiful attention to detail. (Even the backs of the earrings are polished mirror-bright!) The earrings are lighter weight than I expected, too, and are the perfect size to adorn the ear lobe without overwhelming it. It's wonderful work that makes me want to purchase more from this artist. Nyoman Rena's jewelry is wonderful! I purchased his garnet "Arabesques" and his garnet "Heart in Love" earrings. I intended to keep one for me and give the other pair as a gift. I have to say it was so difficult for me to choose which one to keep, I almost kept them both! I ended up letting the recipient choose first and she chose the "Arabesques". I love my earrings and have seen many of Nyoman's designs that I would lke to have - I wish I could afford to buy them all! The world peace necklace is so lovely and graceful, I almost didn't want to give it away to my 12 year old niece.
